:painter: Currently Drawing: 'Starboy' pics, gift for Panic!, etc.


I'm sitting in the computer room of my grandparent's house; still in my PJs and drinking diet coke while trying to write a fic piece and watch Family Guy clips.

Ooh. Stewie's making a scene... like always.

Anyways, I haven't been around here in a while because my computer back home has a problem with it's cookies or something... and it won't let me log in. The conclusion might be having to get a new account, but I'll try and look into it a bit more when I return. The cool thing about my grandparent's house is that my grandpa has a scanner. Which is WAY better then what I do; taking a picture of what I draw with my digital camera (cough, brother's camera) and just trying to touch it up a bit in PSP 9. My dad has been sympathetic about it while dropping hints to me that he's getting me a tablet by asking me things like 'would it work on PSP?' 'I bet your teacher's would love your projects to be digital.' (since with a lot of my projects this year, mainly SS, they ask us to draw things for it. haha) 'what size would you like?' and stuffs like that. It's pretty nice; I'm looking forward to whenever I see a big package in the mail.

I'll try and put some things up while I'm here. Now, though, I'm slightly annoyed with the distasteful 'charm' that I've been recieving from my friends. Apparently, people want to know who I like, Mike's trying to get to my best friend, Heather and Jon are having complications and other things you probably don't want to hear about. I'm sick of middle school. High school, bring it on. Maybe then people will actually grow up to be half as decent as they precieve.

Shut up, babydoll. You know you couldn't leave dA if you tried. This website is what brought you and I together. You've made so many friends, looked at so many pictures, commented so many times. And you can draw too. Better than you think. Better than a lot of people on here. You have talent, and no matter how many times you fail, you have to keep going. Sure, we've all made mistakes, but that's what makes you stronger. You have to realize we are all here for you, and we enjoy looking at your art. Things happen, we change, but I've always known I could come back to dA for support. Without you there with me, experiencing and seeing what I do and see...it wont be the same. I want you to really think about what you're giving up. I've already lost a couple friends on here because they left. Reconsider, okay, love? dA has always been my home, and you have always been my sister. Sisters stick together, dont they?

Here's a little advice from someone with a few more years under their belt. You are and always will be your toughest critic. I know of nothing that will ever change that, nor should it because with out that inner criticism you would not strive to become better.

The opinions of others matter as well. It to can help us grow and become better at what we do. However, it shouldn't be what we strive for. Praise is nice to receive and can be a great ego booster, but that is a short lived boost.

You need to do things for yourself and nobody else. The only person you need to please in life is yourself. From there everything else falls into place.

Your art is yours, you've made it yours by the style you draw it with. Good, bad, or average matters little. It is still yours, you made it. You still have a lot of years to perfect how you draw, and you have already made a great start.

Last piece of advice, which I cannot lay claim to. The only person you have to be better than is who you are today.

Well, you don't know me very well or at all but I don't think people on DA, myself included, really care about how good or bad someone's art is. I have almost no art but I still have DA friends! And, you have watchers (me!) who like you for your art!:) I'm pretty sure it's not just me so isn't that a good reason to stay? Maybe you have other personal reasons that I don't know about but I don't want people leaving DA:( Sorry, this all must sound wierd coming from someone you don't even know:D!
